What we do

Many of the best cards, games and figures come out in Japan first, or only in Japan. Buying them from the US raises the same questions every time: is the Japanese version the one to get, is the seller trustworthy, and what will shipping, tariffs and fees add to the price?

We answer those questions in plain US English, with prices in US dollars and the US import rules that apply.

How we work

Guides come first and shopping second. A guide should be useful even if you end up buying from a proxy service, a marketplace or another store.

Prices, release dates, print runs and customs rules carry a source and an "as of" date. Card prices change every day, so we show where a price came from (for example TCGplayer, PriceCharting or eBay sold listings) and when we checked it.

Our own picks

We also buy some items in Japan from known sources and sell them to US buyers. Those picks are always labeled as ours, with their condition and where they came from. When a guide compares our price with other sellers, it says that we sell the item too. We never sell anything we can't vouch for.
